New Medicare Supplement ID Cards We’re changing the look of our Medicare Supplement policyholder ID cards to include the new Aetna logo.  At the same time, we’re changing the process and the way that our Medicare Supplement policyholders receive their ID cards — and it’s FASTER.  Effective 8.31.12…

A Medicare Supplement policyholder will receive their ID card (with a welcome letter) about a week after their insurance application is approved.  The agent will also receive a copy of the welcome letter (with ID card info) at the same time.  In other words, the ID card will no longer arrive with the policy — it arrives SOONER!

For now, only Medicare Supplement new business will receive the new ID cards.  Coming soon…all Medicare Supplement in force policyholders will receive new ID cards with updated contact info and the new Aetna logo.*

We hope that you and your customers will find the new process much more beneficial (and quicker) — another enhancement to improve our service!

Thank you for your business and support.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Agent Services team.

Aetna ID Cards

The new cards include:

  • policyholder’s name
  • policy number
  • member since date
  • the product/plan coverage type
  • our current contact info
  • the new Aetna logo*

The welcome letter includes: purpose of the ID card, notification that they (or the agent) will receive the policy and a copy of the application within two to three weeks, and a reminder to review all pieces carefully for any discrepancies.   To view a sample of the welcome letter, click here.

*The new Aetna logo is only on American Continental Insurance (ACI) and Continental Life Insurance Company of Brentwood, Tennessee (CLI) cards.  While the process is the same, policyholder ID cards for Medicare Supplement policies issued by Genworth Life and Annuity Insurance Company (GLAIC) and Genworth Life Insurance (GLIC), both Genworth companies, will not have a logo.
